### What the work is for

Speech systems have to follow people who talk freely, not only people reading aloud. Spontaneous conversation is the one thing scripted recordings cannot give a model.

### The work

- Hold recorded conversations on the topics the project provides.
- Talk the way you normally do. There is no script to read.
- Keep the audio quality within the project's guidelines for the whole session.

### What to expect

- Before you record, the platform takes you through a microphone test and an intake step.
- Some projects record you alone, others in pairs or groups.

### What you bring

- Your own device to record on.
- A quiet room to talk in.

### You need

- Native or near-native command of the language you speak in.
- Consent to be recorded, signed for each project in an agreement that sets how the recordings may be used.
- 18 years or older.

### Good to know

- Not every device or room passes the audio check.
- Applying does not guarantee a project. You are invited when one needs your language.
