Image Annotator

Applications open

Label objects in images for AI training, as paid work from home. It suits detail-minded people who are comfortable learning a new web-based tool. Prior annotation experience is a plus, not a requirement.

What the work is for

Labelled images train computer-vision models: the systems that detect, outline and classify what a camera sees.

The work

  • Draw boxes and polygons around listed objects. Assign each object's class using the instructions.
  • Paint segmentation masks where the project needs exact outlines, pixel by pixel.
  • Place keypoints where the project defines points on a person or object.
  • Raise images the guideline does not cover instead of guessing.

What to expect

  • Each project has its own label definitions, instructions and tool, such as CVAT on YPAI's servers.
  • You pass initial test tasks before working on project batches.
  • Every batch is reviewed. Images that miss the acceptance criteria come back to you to fix.
  • On some projects a model draws a first outline and you correct it.

You need

  • Strong attention to detail and a reliable internet connection.
  • Comfortable learning a new web-based tool when a project needs one.
  • 18 years or older.

Good to know

  • Some projects mix in check images with known answers, or give one image to several annotators, to measure accuracy.
  • Work comes project by project, and there can be gaps between projects.
