Thermal (IR) Video Annotator: Drone Tracking with Bounding Boxes (Remote, EEA)

YPAI is building a small, steady team of video annotators for an ongoing project with a European defence-technology company working on counter-drone systems. You label infrared (thermal) video filmed from drones, mostly air to air, so a detection model can learn to find and follow a single small drone in the sky.

What you will do

• Draw one tight bounding box around the drone in every frame of short thermal video clips, using a browser-based video annotation tool with interpolation between keyframes.
• Zoom in on small, faint targets against sky, clouds and horizon, and decide frame by frame whether the drone is visible, partly visible or lost.
• Mark frames where the drone leaves the image or cannot be seen, following a short written guideline.
• Fix the boxes a reviewer sends back, so every clip is delivered consistent.

Who we are looking for

• Experience with video or image annotation (for example CVAT, Label Studio, V7, Supervisely or similar), or a strong eye for detail and willingness to learn the tool in a paid trial.
• Patience with repetitive, precise work on a laptop or desktop with a decent screen. A phone is not enough for this task.
• Comfort working on security-sensitive footage: you keep all material inside the annotation tool and never save, screenshot or share it.
• You live in the European Economic Area. Depending on the client's requirements, additional screening may apply before you get access to project footage.

How the work runs

• Fully remote, flexible hours, paid per hour on invoice as an independent contractor. Accepted work is paid via bank transfer, Wise or PayPal.
• Compensation: typically EUR 10 to 20 per hour, depending on your location, experience and measured quality. Tell us your expected rate when you apply.
• Ongoing weekly batches. Once the project starts we expect roughly 5 to 20 hours per week per annotator, and a paid trial clip comes first.
• You sign confidentiality terms before you see any project footage.
