What the work is for

Your recordings help speech systems understand people as they really speak, in your own language and accent. That speech has to be recorded by the people who speak it.

The work

• Record the assigned prompts and passages, following the guidelines for the batch.
• Speak clearly and at a natural pace.
• Keep your recording setup unchanged and use a quiet room.
• Re-record any take that fails the automatic audio check.
• Submit through the platform inside the agreed window.

What to expect

• Work arrives in batches. You take the ones that suit you.
• Before you record, the platform takes you through a microphone test and an intake step.
• The platform handles the upload and the quality checks.

What you bring

• Your own phone or computer.
• A quiet room to record in.
• A stable internet connection.

You need

• Native or near-native command of the language you record in.
• Basic comfort with a web tool.
• Consent to be recorded, signed for each project in an agreement that sets how the recordings may be used.
• 18 years or older.

Good to know

• Not every device or room passes the audio check. The device has to record without distortion.
• Applying does not guarantee a batch. Batches go to the people whose language, accent and setup a project needs, so describe all three when you apply.
